Historical Building Survey in Reghin, Romania
The Irene Haus is a three-story (basement, ground floor, first floor), building, located in the historical center of Reghin (Szászrégen), Romania. The origins of the property date back to the 1500s. Its facade, designed in the eclectic architectural style, is believed to have been added in the late 1800s.
Embracing Advanced LIDAR Technology
We conducted the architectural survey, combining the power of LIDAR scanners with extensive photography to capture every intricate detail of the structures. Our hands-on approach relies on the latest LiDAR technology, renowned for its precision in building surveys. This technology allows us to generate point clouds, a crucial step in crafting a comprehensive and high-definition Building Information Model (BIM). The registered point cloud maintained a maximum margin of error of 5 mm.
We managed to locate the section of the building that we consider the oldest. It’s where the communist regime constructed the restroom. Due to the small spaces on-site, it’s hard to perceive, but the point cloud beautifully reveals the medieval arches.
Precise BIM Modeling
Our client also needed BIM Modeling services. So we created an intricate BIM model for the historic building, which boasts ornate façade embellishments. It was an additional challenge that the project scope expanded when the owner acquired an adjacent building, necessitating the integration of a new structure into our modeling endeavor, which resulted in a less typical workflow.
The neighboring building, though lacking historical prominence, possessed an intriguing architectural feature. Despite having an equal number of stories as the Irene Haus, it created an optical illusion of additional height due to cunningly designed faux windows.
Not only did we need to capture the intricate façade details, but we also encountered the intricacies of a beautifully crafted interior railing, each element demanding meticulous attention.

Conclusion
In conclusion, our journey into the realm of LIDAR technology and intricate architectural modeling exemplifies our unwavering commitment to innovation and precision in the world of digital development and marketing. This project, with its unique challenges and meticulous attention to detail, underscores our ability to adapt to evolving technologies and deliver exceptional results.
